La debo una peli porque al final no fui a ver Confucio. Claro que esta también hay que verla por Tony Leung. Se trata de tener lealtad a los amigos, independientemente de en que proyectos se embarquen. Porque una peli sobre magia tampoco es que resulte muy muy atrayente. Claro que el teaser tampoco es que deje claro de que va la peli. De magia? Seguro?
Filmed during one of the many breaks from Wong Kar Wai's THE GRAND MASTERS, Tony Leung Chiu Wai stars in Derek Yee's THE GREAT MAGICIAN. Set during the Warlord Era of the early 20th Century, Leung plays the famous entertainer who must win back his childhood sweetheart, played by the wonderful Zhou Xun, from an impressively moustachioed Lau Ching Wan.
Three great actors, one more than reliable director, an engaging period of China's fascinating history - and magic! What more could you possibly ask for? Emperor Motion Pictures just dropped the first teaser trailer in our lap today and while it may be short on plot, it certainly dazzles. Set for an early 2012 release, this is likely to be one of the most anticipated films in an already packed winter season for Chinese Cinema!
